On May 10th, the NPE 2024 Exhibition, held for the first time in six years, successfully concluded. As the largest plastics industry show in the Americas, it drew participants from over 110 countries and included more than 2000 exhibitors, filling over 100,000 square meters of exhibition space. On-site, Zhafir Plastics Machinery displayed a range of specialized solutions designed to meet the diversified requirements of the medical industry.

Notably, the all-electric VE1200V-210hs with the medical package, is designed for cleanroom production standards in the medical sector. Featuring a unique medical color scheme, anti-static paint, and a suspended tie-bar design etc., it meets international standards by offering enhanced resistance to dust and oil pollution and operating with reduced noise levels.

The live demonstration featured a 4-cavity medical syringe barrel production using Tritan copolyester, with product weight of 3.2g and an impressively quick cycle time of just 18 seconds.

Additionally, the electric ZE1900V-300h machine with hydraulic integration offers a flexible and efficient alternative for the medical industry. Utilizing stack mold technology, the solution enhances productivity per area. In parallel, Zhafir’s precise control and molding technologies also support to meet with the strict dimensions and accuracy requirements for medical parts manufacturing.

The live demonstration integrates an 8×8 cavity stack mold, showcasing the medical IV filters production. The products, made from AS material, with part weight of 1.5g and 2.2g  respectively, are produced with a cycle time of 18 seconds.

On April 26th, the long-anticipated CHINAPLAS 2024 concluded successfully at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center. All-electric precision for cleanroom medical technology

Designed to meet the high standards of the industry, the certified VE1900V-430h with medical package offers a wide range of turnkey solutions. For clean, high-cavity precision injection molding – even in unmanned production.

All-electric drives eliminate hydraulic oil contamination. An antistatic paint finish, standard in the medical industry, makes cleaning easier. In addition, the mold area features contactless tie bars that do not require grease lubrication for cleanliness.

To support document traceability, Zhafir offers data collection in conjunction with MES, allowing production data to be stored in the cloud.

Application: A 96-cavity produces a cap for PE blood collection tubes. The part weight is 0.7 g with a cycle time of 5.5 seconds. The integrated automation solution enables unmanned production.

Zhafir Venus Series
Highest precision for the production of optical lenses

The VE600V-80h with LENS package is a specialized optics machine whose all-electric injection molding technology is precisely tailored to the high quality requirements of lenses and whose control system enables  an efficient production processes.

Machine design, high-rigidity housing, precision linear guides and optimized thermal balance of the platens ensure maximum precision in the motion accuracy of the mold. The injection system is designed for optical lens materials. It ensures extremely precise injection molding.

Specially developed synchronous data acquisition software provides comprehensive production data in real time and a transparent display of production fluctuations.

Application: A lens for smartphone cameras is produced, with special material COC (cyclo-olefin copolymer). A 12-cavity mold runs a cycle time of less than 21 seconds, the part weight is just 0.005 g.

Haitian Mars F Series
World premiere of the packaging professional

MA2100F/580 is displayed as a complete high-performance package for high-speed thin-walled containers + IML cell + side-entry robot. Energy-saving, stable, efficient, with fast cycle time.

The MA/F achieves injection speeds of up to 500 mm/s and supports short mold opening and closing times. At Chinaplas this technical capability is supported by a fast and responsive IML cell.  2.8 seconds cycle-time is the result.

Significant energy savings are achieved through electrical charging. The use of customized plasticizing components ensures an excellent plasticizing performance and consistently high melt quality, even with ultra-short production cycles. In addition, the responsive 15-inch control system provides insightful machine data e.g. for intelligent energy management.

In-mold labeling improves efficiency and stability, prevents deformation and label peeling, is environmentally friendly and is also increasingly in demand in other industries, although high initial investments and adjustments to production processes represent major hurdles. The new MA/F generation effectively addresses these issues.

Application: A 4-cavity ice box with 3.9 g is produced from high-flow PP. With IML application and side-entry removal, the cycle time is less than 2.8 seconds.

Space-saving two-platen solution for lightweight components

Significant energy savings of up to 40% are achieved through electrical charging.

a new generation of control technology with improved UI design supports efficiency and is extremely responsive. A new plasticizing unit increases plasticizing efficiency and a new cylinder cooling structure improves plasticizing consistency. All in all, the new generation is faster and more reliable.

In Trexel’s microfoaming process, inert gas is introduced into the cylinder through a custom designed system. A specially designed screw ensures that the gas is evenly distributed in the plastic melt before it is injected into the mold. The micro-mold opening provides control with a repeatability of up to 0.02 mm.The result is an increase in wall thickness from 2.6 mm to 5.1 mm with a weight reduction of approximately 32%. Part stability is improved, warpage/deformation is minimized and raw material savings are significant.

Application: A 1-cavity, lightweight automotive part for chassis made of PP is produced with 360 g at a cycle time of 48 sec.

Entering Citylong’s production facility, the entire factory is equipped with fast-cycling Haitian and electrical Zhafir machines. Since the 1990s, Citylong has been a true supporter of Haitian machines.

Citylong has always been exploring new machines and technologies, continuously improving injection molding equipment and pushing the limits of quality. Mr. Pan told us, “Every time a new Haitian machine is introduced, we want to be the first company in the civil goods industry to use and test it.” At present, the total number of Haitian machines at all production sites is over 300, and it can be said that the continuous investment and development of Haitian machines are proof that Citylong is working tirelessly to improve product quality.

2. Cost reduction and efficiency improvement: achieving industrial advantages

In recent years, competition in the industry has intensified. Cost has become a major issue that many companies cannot escape. Mr. Pan explains, “In the past two years, we have almost exclusively purchased fast-cycling or electric machines. In particular, the high-speed machines can fully meet our energy-saving requirements. Although the initial investment for electric machines is higher, they do offer significant advantages in terms of total cost accounting. The initial investment can be amortized within two or three years.

In discussing other reasons for choosing Haitian, Mr. Pan mentioned that Haitian’s after-sales service, customer communication and support are customer-oriented, which is a significant advantage over other manufacturers. This is a key factor backing up Citylong’s decision to choose Haitian.

3. Fast response: seizing new online growth opportunities

Currently, e-commerce platforms have become one of the key sales channels for the home storage market. In addition to the opportunities presented by the online market, there is also the challenge of improving the flexibility of the company’s supply chain. “Nowadays, customers are very demanding. When they place an order, they expect delivery within three to five days. Last year, we had a unique special order, a multi-million dollar order that required fast delivery. The customer searched with all domestic industrial companies, but none could meet their expectations. Thanks to our advanced equipment, we were able to accept and execute this order,” said Mr. Pan. Haitian’s fast delivery of high-speed machinery gave Citylong the hardware support and strong drive it needed to meet even the most difficult challenges.
